Instant Messaging ! Many of you are probably familiar with this feature from other websites. When you are logged on, it allows you to see how many other people are logged on and who they are. You can then instantly communicate with them without e-mail.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Instant Messaging will only work with a recommended resolution of 1280 or higher horizontal - but the minimum resolution is 1024 by 760. If you have less, you cannot use this feature and, in fact, your general display of the website pages will be affected. In order to avoid the viewing problems, you can do one of two things:
- Increase your resolution to 1024 by 760 or higher
- If leaving your computer at the lower resolution
- log in with your password
- click EDIT PROFILE under MEMBER FUNCTIONS on the left side of the page
- go to the last box on the page (Instant Messages) and UNcheck the box.
USING IM
- After you log in, you will see a box that looks like this in the lower right corner.
- Click the up pointing arrow.
- You will then see this box. Click on the "?" as indicated by the red arrow below.
- After clicking the "?" you will see this box. Click the grey writing that says "Open Instant Messaging Instructions" as indicated by the red arrow below.
- You will then see detailed instructions for using the feature.
Try it out! Enjoy it. If you do not wish to see or participate in the IM feature, follow the instructions above for turning it off in your profile.

Message Forum Navigation When you click Message Forum on the left side of the page, you will be brought to the PROG BLOG, a streaming “conversation” of all various topics. They are presented in order of date posted. If you wish to view the newest item at the bottom, you can now click the red down arrow next to “Post Response”. Similarly, once at the bottom, you can click

the green up arrow next to “Post Response” to go to the top of the list. This will save scrolling the entire list. Although several people have asked, we unfortunately, cannot display as a reverse order sort – with the most current post on top. Most people find it unnatural to have to scroll down to the bottom of the page, then read and scroll backward to read things in consecutive order. |
